[02-16-2023] San Diego County, CA – One Person Killed, Four Others Injured in Rollover Crash in Cleveland National Forest

The California Highway Patrol reported that a driver was killed and four passengers were injured after his Jeep overturned on a country road in East County on Thursday, February 16, 2023.

The accident occurred around 9:25 p.m. at the Cleveland National Forest.

According to a news release from the CHP, a 20-year-old man was traveling in a Jeep Wrangler westbound on Pine Creek Road, east of Deer Park Road.

According to CHP, the San Diego-based driver’s failure to navigate a curve in the road led to the Jeep veering off the road and overturning.

The driver was ejected during the rollover and was pronounced dead at the scene.

The driver and his four passengers made up the total number of occupants in the Jeep at the time of the collision.

According to the authorities, all four passengers, who were men in their 20s from San Diego, suffered minor to moderate injuries.
