Two women got trapped while another was hospitalized following a two-vehicle collision in Point Loma, San Diego, on Sunday morning, February 19, 2023.
According to the San Diego Fire-Rescue Battalion, who responded to the scene, the crash occurred around 10:30 a.m. at Coronado Avenue and Catalina Boulevard.
The authorities said the two women were traveling in a Honda sedan east on Coronado when they reportedly ran through a stop sign at the intersection and collided with a Subaru traveling northbound at Catalina.
The Honda rolled over to its side, trapping both women inside. The fire crews spent 15 to 20 minutes breaking into the vehicle’s roof and extricating the trapped occupants.
The trapped women declined to be taken to a hospital after medics checked them out. The woman in the Subaru reported chest pain, and emergency personnel rushed her to the hospital.
No further details were immediately available as further investigation continued.

What to Do After a Car Accident
You must contact the proper authorities immediately when you are involved in an automobile accident. Provide a clear answer to the question being asked, and don’t make assumptions. Sometimes victims feel guilty of not apologizing, even if they had no part in causing the problem. The insurance company may use such behavior as justification for not paying out on a claim.
