A 68-year-old bicyclist was fatally struck by a pickup truck in Bakersfield on Friday evening, February 28, 2025.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the crash occurred at approximately 6:51 p.m. in the 2400 block of Edison Highway, east of Mount Vernon Avenue.
Authorities reported that a black Chevrolet pickup truck collided with the bicyclist, identified by the Kern County Coroner’s Office as Anthony S. of Bakersfield.
Emergency responders arrived at the scene, but Anthony S. succumbed to his injuries.
The incident remains under investigation by the CHP.
