[03-20-2024] Los Angeles County, CA – Three People Hospitalized Following Reckless Two-Vehicle Collision in Sun Valley

Three people were hospitalized following a reckless two-vehicle collision in Sun Valley, Los Angeles, late Wednesday evening, March 20, 2024.

According to the Los Angeles Police Department, the incident happened before 11:00 p.m. between Coldwater Canyon Avenue and Saticoy Street.

Dashcam footage of an SUV showed a Mercedes-Benz sedan speeding past a red light and colliding with the vehicle itself. The sedan took down a traffic light pole and trapped two people inside.

The two victims were rescued, and three patients were immediately transported to the hospital with unspecified injuries.

All the injured victims, including a pregnant woman, were occupants of the Mercedes. The SUV sustained heavy damage, but its driver was apparently unharmed.

It is still undetermined if alcohol or drugs were involved. The authorities are conducting an investigation into the collision.
