At least one person was killed when two vehicles collided on Highway 50 in East Sacramento early Thursday morning, March 24, 2022.
The fatal crash occurred around 4:15 a.m. on the eastbound side of the highway near 59th Street.
One of the cars was flipped onto its roof.
One person died in the crash, but it’s unclear whether anyone else was hurt.
The deceased’s identity has not been disclosed.
Highway 50 eastbound has been reduced to one lane, with traffic speeds averaging around 5 mph.
Drivers experienced significant delays between the X Street exits (exits 4B and 5) and the 65th Street exits (exits 8 and 8B).
