Multi-Vehicle Crash Statistics
Traffic accidents have been a big issue in the United States. As more people travel on the road, there are more accidents.
Every year, about 38,000 people are killed in automobile accidents in the United States. In the United States, the death rate from traffic accidents is 12.4 per 100,000 people. The United States has the highest number of road traffic deaths of any high-income country, accounting for more than half of the total in Western Europe, Canada, Australia, and Japan.
In this case, there was a multi-vehicle collision. Car accidents can occur in a variety of ways. One of them is multi-vehicle accidents. Typically, three or more automobiles are involved. A “chain reaction” occurs when one car collides with another, potentially causing the second vehicle to collide with another.
According to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, 13,000 people are killed in multi-vehicle collisions each year, accounting for more than 40% of traffic fatalities.
In many crashes, drivers don’t have much time to avoid hitting cars in front of them. Most terrified drivers slam on the brakes too late and drift into other lanes.
Swerving into oncoming traffic to avoid an accident could result in a terrible chain reaction and an even worse pileup. It is no surprise that a multi-car collision is one of the most fatal on the road.
