One person was killed and ten more, including three children, were injured after a 13-year-old stole a car and crashed in Woodland on Saturday, April 8, 2023.
According to the Woodland Police Department, the deadly and fiery multi-vehicle collision occurred at the intersection of College Street and Court Street in Woodland, Yolo County.
An officer attempted to pull over a vehicle that was seen driving erratically. Its 13-year-old driver, who had stolen the car from a family member, then fled northbound on College Street before colliding with two other vehicles. Two cars caught fire.
At least ten people were injured, including three children. They were transported to the hospital in various states. A woman was confirmed to have died. No other details were released on their identities.
The Woodland Police and California Highway Patrol are looking into the fatal crash.
People were advised to stay away from the area and find alternate routes.
