According to the California Highway Patrol, the crash happened around 9:30 p.m. between Vermont Avenue and 98th Street.

The victim was strolling when a vehicle struck and left him with injuries.

The undisclosed victim was declared dead at the scene, while the suspect was later apprehended in less than an hour.
