Authorities said a hit-and-run driver struck and killed a 64-year-old woman identified as Sandra F. in the Rancho Dominguez area on Sunday, April 10, 2022.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the collision occurred at 11:38 p.m. Saturday on Avalon Boulevard, just south of Rosecrans Avenue.
Flowers, who was walking eastbound across Avalon Boulevard, was struck by a vehicle traveling north in the number one lane of Avalon Boulevard at an unknown speed.
The victim was pronounced dead at the scene after the vehicle fled the scene.
