[04-11-2025] Stanislaus County, CA – Construction Worker Impaled After Fall from Scaffolding in Riverbank

A construction worker was injured following a workplace incident in Riverbank, Stanislaus County, on Friday afternoon, April 11, 2025.

According to the Modesto Fire Department, emergency crews responded around 3:10 p.m. to the Costco parking lot in Riverbank after receiving reports of a worker suffering a penetrating injury.

Authorities reported that a man in his mid-30s fell from scaffolding and was impaled by a three-foot piece of rebar that entered through his back and exited through his chest. Firefighters said that the worker remained conscious and alert while crews worked to free him.

Emergency personnel accessed a confined area beneath the victim and used a handheld circular saw to cut the rebar before transporting the man to a hospital in Modesto for treatment.

Additional details regarding the worker’s condition have not been released. Officials did not specify the type of construction work being performed at the time of the incident.
