Six people were injured after a reckless driving accident in Buena Park on Thursday night, April 13, 2023.

According to interview statements given by workers and the video footage shared on social media, several picketers were struck by a customer in a moving car and shoved by a second customer who got out of the vehicle’s passenger seat at the Medieval Times parking lot.

Newly unionized Medieval Times employees in Buena Park have been picketing the well-known themed dinner theater for over two months.

Customers reportedly became enraged last week when protesting employees blocked the entrance to the parking lot, leading to the accident.

Videos show a car making an unsuccessful attempt to enter the Medieval Times parking lot, a man in the passenger seat stepping out and swinging at protesters, and the driver, still inside the vehicle, hitting the group of protesters.

Erin Zapcic, a Medieval Times actor and the strike organizer, claimed that the incident injured at least six workers. According to her, the most hurt victim had a fractured tailbone. Since then, she claimed, every protester has returned to the picket line.

Lt. Ryan Dieringer of The Buena Park Police Department confirmed that one male Medieval Times patron had been detained.
