A pedestrian identified as Curtis G. was struck in a fatal DUI accident by a defrocked Oakland priest accused of sexually abusing dozens of children in Walnut Creek on Saturday night, April 16, 2022.

According to a report from Rossmoor.com, the priest, Stephen K., jumped a curb in his car while driving in the Rossmoor retirement community, killing a resident walking home with his wife.

According to booking records, Kiesle was booked into the Martinez Detention Facility Saturday night on suspicion of gross vehicular manslaughter while intoxicated and DUI.

He previously served six years in prison after pleading no contest to molesting a young girl in 1995.

His bail has been set at $250,000.

According to the report, his wife was treated at the hospital for minor injuries.

Kiesle has been named in dozens of lawsuits accusing him of sexually abusing minors, including several new ones in recent years.
