[04-16-2022] Riverside County, CA – Two-Vehicle Crash in Indio Injures At Least Five People

A two-vehicle crash in Indio sent five people to the hospital, just blocks from the Empire Polo Club, where the Coachella Music & Arts Festival took place on Saturday, April 16, 2022.

According to the Riverside County Fire Department, the collision occurred at 3:07 p.m. at the intersection of Calhoun Street and Avenue 48.

According to fire officials, two people were taken to the hospital with moderate injuries, and three people were taken to the hospital with minor injuries.

A sixth person refused to be taken to the hospital.

There were no immediate details about what caused the crash.

The Coachella festival, which attracts about 125,000 people per day, had a significant impact on traffic in the area.
The crash took place about two miles from the festival grounds.
