Two unidentified women were injured, and one man under the influence was arrested when his vehicle rolled over and collided with a parked pickup truck in Petaluma early Saturday morning, April 23, 2022.

They found the driver, Miguel H., a 30-year-old Sonoma resident, and two female passengers once they arrived on the scene.

Hernandez explained that he and his female passengers were in a bar in Santa Rosa when they met a man he only knew as “Jose,” according to Hernandez.

According to Hernandez, Jose offered to drive them home because they were intoxicated and driving the vehicle at the time of the collision. According to Hernandez, Jose fled the scene of the collision before police arrived.

Hernandez and his two female passengers were the only ones in the vehicle, according to Ring camera surveillance footage obtained by Petaluma police officers in the neighborhood.

According to interviews with the passengers, Hernandez was driving at the time of the crash.

The collision caused minor injuries to both females, who were taken to Petaluma Valley Hospital for treatment by firefighters.

Hernandez failed several field sobriety tests administered by officers. According to a breath test, his blood alcohol content was one and a half times the legal limit.

He was charged with felony driving under the influence of alcohol, causing injury as well as giving officers false information.

He was arrested and taken to the Sonoma County Jail.
