One died, and another was injured[04-23-2023] Deadly Collision Between Two Vehicles in Escalon-Oakdale Area Leaves One Dead and Another Injured in a fatal two-vehicle crash in San Joaquin County on Sunday midnight, April 23, 2023.

According to the California Highway Patrol, the incident occurred at 12:15 a.m. near the San Joaquin-Stanislaus County line.

As per the report, a 20-year-old man named Brian R., driving a 2020 Chevrolet Blazer, failed to stop at a stop sign on Victory Avenue while heading northbound towards Highway 120 and collided with a westbound 2014 Chevrolet Malibu driven by a 26-year-old man from Manteca.

Ramirez’s vehicle overturned and ended up in an irrigation canal, where it was submerged. Ramirez was not wearing any safety equipment at the time of the accident.

San Joaquin County Coroner’s Office pronounced Ramirez deceased at the scene. The 26-year-old driver, wearing safety restraints, was transported to Memorial Hospital in Modesto with minor injuries.

No information is available on whether drugs or alcohol played a role in the accident, according to CHP officials.
