[05-09-2026] Riverside County, CA – Pedestrian Injured After Being Struck By Vehicle in Menifee

A pedestrian sustained head injuries after being struck by a vehicle in Menifee early Saturday morning, May 9, 2026.

According to the Menifee Police Department, officers responded to the incident at around 5:00 a.m. at the intersection of Menifee and Newport roads.

Authorities stated that the driver involved, identified as Omar S. of Winchester, was driving a Kia sedan when he struck the pedestrian at the intersection. Police believe the victim was crossing Newport Road in a crosswalk at the time of the incident.

The pedestrian was transported to Inland Valley Medical Center, where he was listed in stable condition. The driver suffered minor injuries and was the only occupant inside the vehicle. He was later arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence.

Authorities continue to investigate the incident.
