A 56-year-old woman and two deputies were injured after a two-vehicle crash in San Jacinto on Friday morning, May 12, 2023.
The Riverside County Sheriff’s Department said the incident occurred at approximately 2:15 a.m. at Esplanade Avenue and State Street.
According to the report, a 26-year-old male deputy driving a Ford Explorer collided with a Nissan Maxima driven by a woman from Hemet. Following the collision, the deputy’s vehicle struck a light pole.
The critically injured deputy was transported to a local hospital. Meanwhile, the female driver from the other vehicle was also hospitalized with minor injuries.
Another deputy at the scene suffered non-life-threatening injuries while extricating the injured deputy from the vehicle. The injured deputy received treatment for a knee injury and was subsequently released from the hospital.
