A 57-year-old man identified as Erik M. was killed after a deadly multi-vehicle traffic crash in Long Beach on Saturday morning, May 14, 2022.
The collision happened on the southbound lanes of the 710 Freeway near Long Beach Boulevard at around 5:52 a.m.
A Ford truck and a Honda Civic were initially involved in the collision, but authorities later determined that the crash involved four vehicles.
How the collision occurred and why it happened have not been established. One person was trapped in the wreckage and was extricated by emergency personnel.
It’s unclear whether intoxication played a role in the mishap. The California Highway Patrol is further investigating the case.
