[05-14-2023] Riverside County, CA – Elderly Male Pedestrian Killed in Cathedral City Hit-and-Run Crash

A 78-year-old male pedestrian was killed following a hit-and-run accident in Cathedral City early Sunday morning, May 14, 2023.

The Cathedral City Police Department reported that the fatal crash occurred around 6:05 a.m. on Mission Drive.

The local man was declared dead at the scene by the responders. He has not been identified yet until the next of kin was notified.

The suspected driver, identified as local resident Heber H., 34, was later detained and booked on charges of homicide and hit-and-run resulting in death. He was reportedly being held on $1 million bail.
