[05-22-2023] Ventura County, CA – One Killed, Two Injured After Motorcycle Collided with Car on Highway 33 in Ojai

A 35-year-old motorcyclist man died, while two elders were injured after a motorcycle and car crash in Ojai on Monday morning, May 22, 2023.

According to the California Highway Patrol, the incident occurred around 10:30 a.m. on Highway 33 above Ojai.

A collision took place involving a motorcycle rider and another vehicle. The motorcycle rider, from Ventura, was traveling in the southbound direction on a 2007 Honda CBR1000 sport bike at the time of the incident.

The second vehicle involved was a 2007 Subaru driven by a 65-year-old man from Oak Park, accompanied by a 66-year-old woman from Oak Park as a passenger.

According to the CHP, the collision occurred as the Subaru turned from the northbound dirt shoulder of the highway to the southbound dirt shoulder, resulting in the motorcycle colliding with the right front passenger door.

Tragically, the motorcycle rider involved in the collision was declared deceased at the scene by Ventura County Fire Department. The identities of the rider have not been disclosed to respect the family’s notification process.

On the other hand, the male driver and female passenger of the Subaru suffered minor injuries, and the woman was taken to Ojai Valley Community Hospital for medical treatment.

Both the motorcycle rider and occupants of the Subaru were wearing proper safety gear, and authorities have determined that drugs and alcohol were not factors in the incident.

The investigation is ongoing.
