[05-27-2023] Ventura County, CA – 77-Year-Old Motorist Died After Motorcycle vs. Vehicle Collision on Highway 33

A 77-year-old man from Santa Barbara died in a motorcycle vs. vehicle collision on Highway 33 in Ventura County on Saturday afternoon, May 27, 2023.

The California Highway Patrol said the incident occurred before 1:15 p.m. on Highway 33 near Meiners Road.

The rider was traveling northbound on a 2004 MV Agusta sport bike, while a 50-year-old woman from Ojai was driving a 2013 BMW passenger vehicle heading westbound.

According to the (CHP), the BMW driver allegedly entered the intersection as the motorcyclist passed, resulting in a collision between the two vehicles.

Following the incident, the rider was rushed to Ventura County Medical Center in an ambulance but tragically passed away.

Fortunately, the driver of the BMW and her 13-year-old passenger emerged unharmed from the collision. The investigation is ongoing.
