[06-05-2023] 16-Year-Old Male Pedestrian Killed After Hit-And-Run Crash Near PlacervilleA 16-year-old male pedestrian identified as Josiah S. was killed after a hit-and-run crash near Placerville early Monday morning, June 5, 2023.

According to the California Highway Patrol, the pedestrian was struck by a vehicle on westbound Highway 50 near El Dorado Road, between Shingle Springs and Placerville, around 3:00 a.m.

Authorities reported that the suspect car, which fled the scene, is thought to be a white Honda Accord from 2018 to 2022 and that one of the Honda’s mirrors may have fallen off at the scene.

No further information has been provided about the collision, and the driver’s identity remains unknown.

The CHP is investigating the deadly hit-and-run.
