[06-06-2023] Humboldt County, CA – 45-Year-Old Pedestrian Fatally Struck by Hit-and-Run Car on Highway 101 in Arcata

A 45-year-old male pedestrian was fatally struck by a hit-and-run vehicle on Highway 101 in Arcata on Tuesday evening, June 6, 2023.

The California Highway Patrol said the incident occurred at 9:00 p.m. in the median of U.S. Highway 101 south of Seventh Street.

According to the report, authorities discovered an adult male lying on the ground, tragically succumbing to blunt-force injuries. A vehicle struck the individual while crossing the highway’s northbound lanes, and the driver fled the scene.

The CHP seeks the public’s help in finding the driver and vehicle responsible for the crash.

The suspected vehicle involved is a silver Audi A3 manufactured between 2015 and 2017. It is believed to have incurred front-end damage on the driver’s side and could be without the side mirror.

The investigation is ongoing.
