[06-08-2023] 1 Man Killed, 1 Woman Injured Following Two-Vehicle Collision in BakersfieldA man was killed while a woman was injured after the man ran a red light and struck the woman’s vehicle in an intersection in Bakersfield on Thursday evening, June 8, 2023.

According to the Bakersfield Police Department, the collision occurred at the intersection of Gosford Road and District Boulevard around 10:41 p.m.

The man ran a red light and struck the victim’s vehicle resulting in him veering off and crashing into a tree on the center median of Gosford Road.

The woman sustained minor injuries and was taken to a nearby hospital. Witnesses aided the man, extracting him from the wrecked vehicle and performing CPR.

Upon the arrival of the Bakersfield Fire Department and Hall Ambulance personnel, life-saving procedures were continued, but the man did not survive.

Further investigations continue.
