[06-18-2023] Riverside County, CA – Tragic Crash Claims Life of 20-Year-Old Motorcyclist in Sage After Collision with Pickup Truck

A 20-year-old motorcyclist was killed after colliding with a pickup truck in Sage, Riverside County, on Sunday morning, June 18, 2023.

The Riverside County Fire Department responded to the crash, which took place at the intersection of Red Mountain and Sage roads around 9:50 a.m.

As per the California Highway Patrol, the motorcyclist was headed northbound on Sage Road, operating a 2016 BMW S1100 motorcycle, while a 49-year-old Hemet resident was driving a 2011 Nissan Frontier in the opposite direction on Sage Road.

As the rider approached a curve on the road, he reportedly lost control of the motorcycle and slid across the double yellow lines separating the lanes directly into the path of the Nissan. The impact caused the motorcyclist from Camp Pendleton to suffer severe injuries, and despite efforts, he was pronounced dead at the scene.

It has not been confirmed if he was a United States Marine Corps member. The pickup truck driver remained at the scene and cooperated with CHP investigators.
