[06-21-2023] Los Angeles County, CA – One Person Hospitalized After Exposure to Chemical Spill Vapors in San Pedro

One person was hospitalized after exposure to chemical spill vapors in San Pedro, Los Angeles, on Wednesday evening, June 21, 2023.

According to the Los Angeles Fire Department, the incident occurred around 8:05 p.m. in the 1100 block of South Earle Street.

A ship was found offloading fuel, and its vapors affected about fifteen workers, causing them to feel unwell. One person was transported to a hospital in fair condition.

The LAFD HazMat squad unit investigated the area for hazards and found no chemicals in the surrounding waters and grounds.

The authorities have not shared any further details about the incident.
