According to the California Highway Patrol, the fatal crash happened around morning along southbound Highway 99, near the Cosumnes River Boulevard off-ramp.
Reports indicate that a man tried to run across the freeway when a blue Budget truck fatally struck him.
One lane is still closed while the other two were reopened. Further details on the fatal crash have yet to be released by the authorities.
