[06-29-2022] Santa Barbara County, CA - One Person Injured in Hit-and-Run Crash West of Santa MariaAccording to the California Highway Patrol, one person sustained a head injury after a two-vehicle hit-and-run crash west of Santa Maria on Wednesday, June 29, 2022.

According to the CHP logs, the collision occurred at 9:09 p.m., close to West Betteravia and Mahoney roads intersection.

The CHP, the Santa Maria Police Department, medics, and tow trucks were among the first responder organizations.

Local authorities discovered a green Chevrolet Chevelle and a black Chrysler 300 that had collided when they arrived. The Chrysler only sustained frontend damage, although both vehicles were damaged and had to be towed away from the scene.

According to the logs, a passenger injured in the suspect car was taken to Marian Regional Medical Center.

The crash remains under investigation.
