[07-12-2023] Los Angeles County, CA – Fatal Hit-and-Run: Pedestrian Struck and Killed by Fleeing Truck Driver in Downtown Long Beach

A pedestrian was fatally struck by a truck driver who promptly fled the scene in Long Beach on Wednesday morning, July 12, 2023.

The Long Beach Police Department responded around 1:50 a.m., reporting an unidentified incident at the intersection of Locust Avenue and Seaside Way.

Upon arrival, police officers and paramedics from the fire department discovered a pedestrian with severe injuries, ultimately resulting in their untimely death.

Further details revealed that a black pickup truck had crashed into a gate and potentially struck a pedestrian. Subsequently, the black pickup truck fled the scene, heading northbound.
