A 52-year-old pedestrian was killed after being struck by a semi-truck in Bakersfield early Friday morning, July 14, 2023.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the fatal crash happened around 1:18 a.m. on northbound Highway 99, north of Rosedale Highway.
The victim was identified as a 52-year-old woman who was reportedly walking along the northbound side of Highway 99 when she was struck and killed by a semi-truck.
The semi-truck driver said he was unable to see the woman because of her dark clothing and the darkness at the time.
The authorities have yet to release further details about the fatal crash.
