[07-17-2022] San Diego County, CA - Two People Killed in Fiery Two-Vehicle Collision in IrvineAccording to the authorities, two people were killed in a fiery crash, and a man was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence of drugs in Irvine Sunday, July 17, 2022.

According to the police and firefighters, the crash transpired at about 8:00 p.m. on Meadow Valley and Spring Valley. The call is between a Mini Cooper and Volkswagen Golf crash.

After the collision, the Mini Cooper caught fire, and the driver and a passenger were found dead inside. Jack V., 20, of Irvine, who was operating the Golf, was arrested on suspicion of drugged driving, according to the police.

Varganagl was hurt in the collision and taken to a nearby hospital for treatment, according to the police.

Authorities took some time to confirm the victims’ identities, so their names weren’t immediately made public.

Police said speed and drugs appear to have played a role in the crash, though the exact cause is still under investigation.
