According to the Ventura County Sheriff’s Department, a pedestrian man was hit by a vehicle and killed crossing a road in Camarillo late Friday night, July 22, 2022.
According to Ventura County Sheriff’s Capt. Ron Chips, the crash occurred at around 11:35 p.m. in the area of Lewis Road and Camino Alvarez, south of the junction with Las Posas Road.
According to Chips, the man was reportedly walking eastward across Lewis into the southbound lane when he was hit by a southbound car. On the spot, he passed away.
According to authorities, the driver, an Oxnard man, remained on the scene and cooperated. The victim’s age and city of residence were not disclosed.
