According to the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department, the incident occurred at 4:00 p.m. near the Rosecrans and Budlong Avenues intersection.

The initial report said two young individuals were driving a reportedly stolen vehicle—the reason the authorities initiated the chase. The pursuit ended when the car veered onto the sidewalk and hit a pedestrian.

Fortunately, the pedestrian did not sustain any serious injuries. The identity of the victim remains unknown.

Following the crash, both suspects exited the vehicle. The driver surrendered immediately, while the passenger was located shortly afterward and taken into custody. On-site reports said the passenger attempted to hide in a doghouse in a nearby neighborhood.

No other information was immediately available as the investigation continued.
