Traffic Accident Statistics
Car accidents are an unfortunate part of today’s life. Because many of our communities are built on the use of private vehicles, dangerously packed roadways and high-speed crashes are unavoidable.
California has one of the highest rates of road deaths in the United States. In 2020, 3,259 vehicle accidents killed a driver, a passenger, or a pedestrian. The only state with a higher number is Texas, which had 3,905. Traffic deaths in California have been reduced in recent years. In the state, 48 people per 100,000 are killed in vehicle accidents, compared to the national average of 65.
Every day, a rising number of vehicles use the roadways in the United States, making safety even more important. It’s important to equip your car with safety features that can help protect you and your passengers in a crash. It will also be easier for other drivers to see your car, which can reduce the risk of a crash happening in the first place.
