[08-08-2023] Imperial County, CA – Two People Injured After Car Crashed Into Rock on Interstate 8

Two people were injured after a car crashed into a rock in Imperial County on Tuesday evening, August 8, 2023.

The local authorities responded on eastbound Interstate 8 near Mt. Springs Road around 8:40 p.m.

Several large rocks fell in the area as the vehicle ran into a boulder measuring 3 feet by 4 feet in the traffic lane. Two vehicle occupants were injured, but it wasn’t clear if they were treated at a local hospital.

Authorities have not released the names of those involved as the investigation continues.
