[08-21-2026] Los Angeles County, CA – Woman Killed After Being Struck By Vehicle in Long Beach

A woman died after being struck by a vehicle while crossing a street in Long Beach on Friday night, August 21, 2026.

According to the Long Beach Police Department, the incident occurred around 8:20 p.m. near Alamitos Avenue and 10th Street.

Police said the woman was walking westbound in the north crosswalk of 10th Street when a vehicle making a left turn from 10th Street onto northbound Alamitos Avenue struck her.

Emergency personnel treated the woman at the scene before transporting her to a hospital, where she later died. Authorities have not released her name, age, or place of residence.

The driver remained at the scene and cooperated with investigators. Police said neither speed nor impaired driving was believed to be a factor in the collision.

The Long Beach Police Department continues to investigate the fatal crash.
