[08-27-2023] Female Pedestrian Struck and Killed After Hit-and-Run Collision on I-5A female pedestrian was fatally injured after a collision caused by a hit-and-run driver in Sacramento on Sunday morning, August 27, 2023.

The California Highway Patrol responded to the crash on northbound Interstate 5, just south of Garden Highway, around 4:15 a.m.

The female pedestrian was struck in the exit-only lane while allegedly attempting to cross the highway. She was found on the right shoulder and later declared dead.

There was no sign of the vehicle’s driver near the accident scene. It has been reported that the vehicle could be a 2016 to 2018 Chevy Malibu or a similar model. The front end of the vehicle would likely be damaged.
