[09-03-2022] Kern County, CA - Pedestrian Killed in a Hit-and-Run on South Union AvenueAccording to officials, a motorist fled from the scene after he struck and killed a pedestrian on South Union Avenue early Saturday morning, September 03, 2022.

The crash occurred just before 3:15 a.m. in the 7300 block of South Union Avenue.

According to the Bakersfield Police Department, authorities were called for a report of a man hit by a car.

Officers discovered the man on the highway with serious injuries and declared him dead at the scene. His identity was yet to be disclosed.

A suspected car involved in the crash was only identified as a dark-colored sedan that fled the scene.

The crash remains under investigation.
