Single-Vehicle Crash Statistics

Every year, a large number of people in the Golden State are killed in accidents involving a single vehicle.

National Highway Traffic Safety Administration data shows that roughly 62% of fatal accidents in California involve only one vehicle. Driving in California requires constant vigilance due to the presence of numerous potential dangers.

There is a wide range of possible causes for single-vehicle accidents. Reckless driving on a slippery road, such as increasing your speed or making a sharp turn, can lead to an off-road collision or a runaway car. It’s possible that a large piece of debris, like a branch or some other kind of yard waste, washed off the back of the truck and ended up on the side of the road. It’s possible that this will also make driving conditions worse.

Even if another driver’s negligence caused the single-vehicle accident, your insurance policy’s coverage plan may limit your recovery.

Los Angeles County Car Accident Lawyers

Any accident caused by reckless driving is wrong, regardless of whether or not any other people were hurt or killed. Your family may be able to file a claim against the at-fault driver’s insurance company if they can prove that the driver’s negligence caused your death.

Having to recall past injuries and losses in front of a large audience as a witness in a deposition or trial can be emotionally draining. The stress of pending legal matters may negatively impact individuals’ mental health.

After a car accident, you should seek legal recourse against the at-fault driver immediately. When multiple victims are killed due to someone else’s negligence, it is imperative that they be held accountable. Although wrongful death lawsuits are challenging to pursue, they can bring the much-needed closure to surviving loved ones. There will be far-reaching effects on the way people drive in California.
