[09-11-2022] One Man Critically Injured in Hit-and-Run Crash in Central BakersfieldA man is in critical condition after a hit-and-run collision in Bakersfield’s downtown late Sunday night, September 11, 2022.

According to the Bakersfield Police Department, officers were called around 10:45 p.m. to P Street near Lowell Park.

When they got there, they discovered a man had been hit by a car, and the driver had fled.

The vehicle is described as a black sedan with front-end damage on the driver’s side.

It is unknown whether alcohol also played a role, although speed is suspected to be a factor in this collision.

The crash remains under investigation.
