[09-14-2022] One Person Dead in Fiery Two-Vehicle Collision on Southland FreewayOne person was killed in a fiery two-vehicle collision in Monterey Park early Wednesday, September 14, 2022.

According to the California Highway Patrol, the crash occurred at approximately 12:02 a.m. on the westbound Pomona 60 Freeway and Greenwood Avenue.

They discovered a silver Toyota Camry and a black sedan involved in the collision and found that both had been in total wreck.

In response to the sedan’s rapid engulfment in flames, the Montebello Fire Department was dispatched to assist.

At the scene, the victim’s death was confirmed by medical personnel.

When the California Highway Patrol was investigating the crash, the accident forced the closure of four freeway lanes.
