Eight people were taken to the hospital after a collision in an Antelope Valley intersection in unincorporated Los Angeles County on Saturday, September 17, 2022.
California Highway Patrol Officer Edgar Figueroa stated that the collision was reported at 3:01 pm at the intersection of Highway 138 and 170th Street West.
According to Figueroa, five people were treated in hospitals by paramedics, and two more were having their injuries assessed.
It was requested that Caltrans close the intersection so that there could be an investigation and cleanup.
According to a news videographer who was on the scene, only one person in an eight-person Dodge Town & Country minivan who was involved in a collision with a white van escaped injury.
Two people with moderate injuries were taken by ambulance, one with critical injuries, four with severe injuries, and one with critical injuries were flown to hospitals.
The videographer claimed the Audi struck the minivan that was traveling eastbound on Highway 138 after running a stop sign as it was traveling southbound on 178th Street West.
He claimed that the driver of a black Audi was also transported to a hospital by ambulance.
