[09-28-2026] Santa Cruz County, CA – 80-Year-Old Woman Seriously Injured in Hit-and-Run Crash in Watsonville

An 80-year-old woman suffered serious injuries in a hit-and-run crash in Watsonville, Santa Cruz County, on Monday morning, September 28, 2026.

According to the Watsonville Police Department, officers received reports of the incident at around 6:36 a.m. at Cynthia Drive and Tuttle Avenue.

Police said the pedestrian suffered serious injuries and was transported to an out-of-county trauma center. Authorities later reported that she was recovering.

Investigators reviewed surveillance footage from nearby homes and businesses and gathered information from witnesses. Police identified the driver as 78-year-old Inesia P.

The driver was arrested in connection with the hit-and-run and is cooperating with the investigation, according to police.

The investigation remains ongoing.
