A driver was hospitalized after being pinned in a two-vehicle collision on the 900 block of Espee Street in east Bakersfield on Thursday afternoon, October 9, 2025.
According to Bakersfield police, officers responded to the scene for an injury crash involving two vehicles.
One driver was trapped inside their vehicle and was extracted by Bakersfield City Fire personnel. The driver then suffered a medical emergency and was transported to a nearby hospital. The condition of the hospitalized driver is unknown. The other driver was uninjured and cooperated with investigators.
The cause of the crash remains under investigation, but drugs, alcohol, and speed are not believed to be factors, according to the California Highway Patrol.
