[10-30-2023] Los Angeles County, CA – Woman Severely Injured Following Hit-And-Run Crash in Whittier

A woman was severely injured after a hit-and-run collision in Whittier on Monday afternoon, October 30, 2023.

According to the authorities, the collision occurred around 2:30 p.m. on Whittier Boulevard.

A dark-colored Hyundai Santa Fe SUV struck the woman, identified as Lisa P., while she was exiting her parked car to take her 11-year-old son to a barber shop.

Footage shows she was side-swiped shortly after stepping out of the SUV, then pushed back against her car before being thrown into the air and landing on the road. The suspect was also seen fleeing the scene.

The victim’s son reportedly called 911 and sought help at the barbershop. She was taken to a nearby hospital for further surgery after breaking multiple bones and fracturing her pelvis.

The cause of the collision and the identity of the suspect are under investigation. Those with information are urged to contact the appropriate authorities.
