A 25-year-old woman was killed after a deadly rear-end crash involving a DUI driver in Gilroy on Sunday morning, November 7, 2021.

[11-07-2021] Santa Clara County, CA - One Person Killed After a Suspected DUI Rear-End Crash in GilroyThe crash happened on the southbound lanes of Highway 101, just south of San Martin Avenue in Gilroy, at around 2:50 a.m.

A 2016 Chevrolet Corvette was traveling southbound on Highway 101 when it rear-ended a 2004 Toyota Sedan.

Due to the severity of the impact, both vehicles swerved off the roadway and crashed into a fence near San Martin airport.

The woman driving the Toyota was fatally injured in the crash. She was pronounced dead at the scene.

Authorities later determined that the Chevrolet Corvette driver was under the influence at the time of the crash. He was identified as 23-year-old Joseph F. He was arrested on suspicion of DUI.
