[11-12-2021] Fresno County, CA – 8-Year-Old Girl Killed After Getting Struck by a Vehicle on Friant Road During a Domestic Violence Incident

An 8-year-old girl was killed after getting struck by a passing vehicle after jumping out of the car she was riding in on Friant Road on Friday night, November 12, 2021.

The fatal accident transpired at approximately 10:00 p.m. on Friant Road, just north of Willow Avenue.

The 8-year-old girl was reportedly riding her mom’s SUV when she jumped out of the vehicle after witnessing an altercation arise between her parents.

The victim’s mom was getting physically harassed by a man sitting in the passenger’s seat. The man was identified as 51-year-old Juan D. T. As the fight got increasingly physical, the victim’s mom [pulled over and signaled the young girl to jump out of the car and walk along the road.

Unfortunately, the weather conditions were also bad that day. The area was surrounded by dense fog, making it hard for drivers to see the little girl. The little girl was then struck by a passing vehicle driven by an 82-year-old man.

Unfortunately, the young girl could not survive the impact and was pronounced dead at the scene.

The 82-year-old driver remained at the scene and willingly cooperated with authorities. His identity has not been disclosed.

The 51-year-old man that was with the victim’s mother was charged with domestic violence. Meanwhile, the victim’s mother was also charged but for driving under the influence.
