According to local authorities, a 10-year-old injured girl helped lead the police to her injured mother in a DUI collision in Visalia on Sunday night, November 13, 2022.
The Visalia Police Department said the crash occurred around 10:00 p.m. near Goshen Avenue and Kelsey Street.
The 10-year-old girl reportedly walked more than half a mile to a gas station and told somebody that her mother had crashed their SUV after getting drunk.
She said to the people at the gas station that her mother was injured and still inside their car on the railroad tracks.
The officers located the SUV and discovered it had turned over for driving at high speed and losing control. Even a whole tree was uprooted due to the rollover crash.
The woman was safely removed by Visalia Firefighters and was taken to the hospital by helicopter for sustaining major injuries. The daughter was also sent via ambulance to the hospital for minor wounds.
The Visalia police looked into the allegation and discovered the mother’s probation for DUI.
