A 45-year-old pedestrian allegedly distracted by his phone was killed in a collision on Elm Avenue Monday evening, November 15, 2022.
Authorities reported the crash occurred around 6:00 p.m. between Elm and North Avenues.
As reported by the police, the victim was struck by a Toyota Corolla while watching videos on his mobile device while crossing the street.
The 45-year-old man, Raymundo M., was not seen by the driver, who traveled 40 miles per hour.
Despite performing life-saving measures, the pedestrian succumbed to his injuries.
Meanwhile, the vehicle’s driver cooperated with the authorities.
