A 72-year-old woman suffered a skull fracture in a head-on collision in the Scripps Ranch area of San Diego on Thursday evening, November 28, 2024.
The crash occurred around 6:51 p.m. in the 10000 block of Aviary Drive, according to Officer J. Perales of the San Diego Police Department.
An 83-year-old woman driving a 2021 Mercedes-Benz GLC 300 was heading north on Scripps Ranch Boulevard when she made a turn onto Aviary Drive in the wrong direction, colliding head-on with a 2014 Nissan Maxima driven by a 50-year-old man.
The injured passenger of the Nissan was transported by ambulance to a nearby hospital for medical treatment.
Authorities confirmed that alcohol was not a contributing factor in the collision. The investigation is ongoing.
